Spring is here, and now is the perfect time to start designing and creating the ideal sunroom or deck for your home. There is no better way to add usable space to your home that can also enhance your home’s beauty and overall value. Here are some reasons why a sunroom or deck should be at the top of your remodeling or renovation list!

They Add Personality and Functionality

One of the best ways to express yourself is by adding a sunroom or deck to your home. In terms of a deck, the design styles are virtually endless. You can make it as large or as stout as you like. You can add things like a grill, patio furniture, or chiminea to it to create an inviting ambiance to all your get-togethers and gatherings.

Sunrooms have just as many options, if not more, than a deck. Depending on your preference, you can have as many windows or screens as you like. Who doesn’t love the smell of rain? Just imagine sitting out in your new sunroom while listening to the sounds of a thunderstorm with a cold drink in hand. They are also great for setting up a secondary table setting so you can enjoy all the benefits of eating or sitting outside, without all of the annoyances of insects, such as mosquitos.

Can Be Used Year-Round in Some Situations

One of the drawbacks of having a deck or sunroom, for some people, is the idea that most people believe they cannot be used year-round. While it is true that sunrooms from years ago did not do well in the winter, today’s more modernly designed sunrooms can be used much more frequently. Depending on the type of windows and glass used, your sunroom can be reasonably comfortable during the winter months, especially if you have heating in the sunroom through an HVAC or infrared space heater.

Decks, while not commonly thought of as winter must-have’s can be designed to give you more of a ski chalet feel, especially if you have the deck covered with an overhang or awning. They provide a magical, almost picturesque look during winter when they are decorated for the season.

If you think that a new deck or sunroom is just not economical due to our midwestern climate, let Rusco Windows show you just how practical and beneficial they can be.
